"High in the sky above Dream Land flotes the Mirror World."
Kirbi & The amazing mirror
In “The other side of the mirror” I experiment with reflecting and fragmenting reality and shifting perspective. I am fascinated with the exploration of what happens when we sleep and dream. To imagine what happens after death, where does the soul go, what is karma or reincarnation?
Mirrors require light to reflect, they can redirect or fragment light and images. Mirrors help us explore and discover what is hidden or not apparent. Our eyes, like mirrors, reflect light and are tools of perception for our brain to co-create or extrapolate reality.
Building mirror installations, mirror rooms and mirror boxes, using photography, digital collages and video, I distort our usual ways of perceiving reality.
