JUST PAINT is a hands-on workshop encouraging participants to paint in fresh innovative ways while allowing their work to emerge and shape lead by their creative process. Participants experience simple techniques and tools to relinquish control, harness chance encounters and transit exploration, trial, error and transformation.

Guided painting explorations and exercises are weaved with mindfulness meditations, expressive movements and group sharing to inspire personal painting time on paper and canvases, in the studio and outside in nature.

It is ideal for students who wish to develop their own artistic vocabulary and authentic way to paint from an inner space of presence and awareness.
In this process you will learn or improve your existing skills to:

• Tap into your reservoir of primal creative energy and paint from a state of presence
• Explore the creative potentials of canvas, gesso, paints, textures and tools
• Dialogue with your painting
• Experiment with light & shadow, color palette, and composition
• Build up and shape layers on your canvas using a selection of painting techniques
• Let go of expectations to embrace the emerging shaping and shape-shifting of your artwork
• Embrace accidents, chance and randomness to tap into unexpected sources of inspiration and develop a new visual language
• Work with the complementary creative forces of chaos and order, form and no-form, masculine and feminine, Eros and the creative impulses, de-constructing and re-constructing
• Cultivate the art of phenomenological seeing to enhance your awareness of compositions, color palette, textures ...
• Turn your inner critic and other inner voices into constructive support
• Deepen your phenomenological observation of art materials, of the surface of your artworks and your experiential process 
• Use creative writing, poetry and the phenomenology of your experience to reflect on your artistic process and present your work meaningfully
• Harvest mindful insights from your creative process and transfer them into the context of your life
• Benefit from the creative dynamic of the group

This workshop takes place in my art studio with a  group of 5 participants only. Each participant has a working area with easel, table and floor space to create inside the studio plus outdoor space if weather permit. The program is aimed for adults interested in expressive painting, contemporary art making, creative process & mindfulness and is designed to be inspiring for skilled artists as well as beginners. Through this journey you will receive my personal support to extend your creative/artistic potentials.
